Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 31, 2026 | Last Updated: June 23, 2026

At SnapFrame (a product of Swyft Media), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the SnapFrame Chrome Extension (the "Extension").

SnapFrame is designed as a secure, high-fidelity utility to capture, manage, and annotate screenshots locally. To ensure compliance with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, we disclose our data collection practices clearly below.

1. Single Purpose & Data Minimization

SnapFrame has a single, narrow purpose: to enable users to capture webpages, edit them, and manage screenshots locally. In alignment with this purpose, we practice strict data minimization. We only collect the minimal amount of information necessary to verify your license status and synchronize your local configuration.

2. Information We Collect

We collect three categories of information: Authentication Data (optional account management), Local Captures (processed on your device by default), and Cloud Library Data (optional, Pro-only cloud storage when you choose to save).

A. Personally Identifiable & Authentication Information (Optional)

If you choose to create a SnapFrame account to synchronize your premium license or configuration settings:

  • Email Address: Collected during optional account creation/login. This is strictly used to identify you as a legitimate user, verify your lifetime license credentials, and sync your settings across authorized machines.
  • Passwords/Credentials: Collected securely to authorize your login. Authentication is managed through a secure, encrypted connection via Supabase Auth. We do not store or have direct access to your plain-text passwords.

B. Website Content (Screenshots) — Local by Default

  • What is Processed: When you trigger a screenshot (via viewport capture, element picker, or full-page scrolling), the Extension retrieves visual layout metrics from the active tab.
  • Local Processing: Screenshots are processed entirely locally on your computer's browser unless you explicitly use Cloud Library.
  • Local Storage: The resulting image chunks and canvas metrics are stored securely within your browser's private local storage space (IndexedDB).
  • No Automatic Uploads: We do not upload your screenshots to any external server unless you choose Save to Cloud as a Pro user with an active account.

C. Cloud Library Data (Optional — Pro Only)

If you are a Pro subscriber with a SnapFrame account and you choose to save a capture to Cloud Library:

  • What is Uploaded: The capture image, thumbnail, and your edit state (annotations, crop, stitch layout, captions, and related editor settings).
  • Why: To let you open and continue editing the same capture on another signed-in device.
  • Storage: Files are stored in secure cloud object storage (Cloudflare R2) with metadata in our database (Supabase). Each account includes up to 2 GB of Cloud Library storage.
  • Deletion: You can delete individual cloud items from the Cloud Library panel. Deleting your account removes associated cloud data upon request.

3. What We DO NOT Collect

To protect your browsing integrity and privacy, SnapFrame does not collect, monitor, or track:

  • Your browsing history (Web History) or URLs visited outside of active screenshot captures.
  • Your real-time network activity or background keystrokes.
  • Your physical location (GPS or IP location details).
  • Any health, medical, financial, credit, or personal communication data.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the minimal information we collect strictly to:

  1. Provide, maintain, and protect the core features of the Extension.
  2. Authenticate your account and verify your premium/pro status across up to two (2) of your concurrent active devices.
  3. Store and sync Cloud Library items when you explicitly choose to save captures to the cloud (Pro only).
  4. Offer customer support and respond to your direct inquiries.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

No Sale of Data

We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer your personal data, email addresses, or captured screenshots to third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.

Service Providers

We may utilize secure infrastructure partners strictly to host authentication, licensing, and optional cloud storage:

  • Supabase — account authentication, license records, and Cloud Library metadata
  • Cloudflare R2 — Cloud Library image and edit-state file storage (Pro users who opt in only)

These providers are legally bound to protect your data and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

6. Security of Your Data

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your authentication data. All database synchronization connections utilize Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) transmission. Local screenshots reside inside the browser sandbox using standard Chrome extension security mechanisms to prevent unauthorized script access.

7. Your Choices & Data Deletion Controls

You are in complete control of your data:

  • Local Wipe: You can clear your IndexedDB captures list at any time inside the SnapFrame canvas settings.
  • Cloud Library Deletion: You can delete individual cloud saves from the Cloud Library panel in the editor at any time.
  • Account Deletion: If you wish to permanently delete your account, email address, license records, and Cloud Library data, please contact us at the address below, and we will purge all database records immediately.

8. Developer Policy Certifications

In compliance with Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, Swyft Media certifies that:

  1. We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, apart from the approved service provider use cases listed in Section 5.
  2. We do not use or transfer user data for purposes that are unrelated to the Extension's single purpose.
  3. We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
